Research Focus 
Ravi Rajan’s research addresses three broad and inter-related themes:

Environmental History and Values, with a focus on the socio-ecological consequences of modernization, and on the relationship between environment and human rights.

Risk and Disaster Management, with a focus on the mitigation of risk and vulnerability pre and post natural and technological disasters, and on the social, economic, and environmental consequences of emerging technologies.

Green Governance and Entrepreneurship, with a focus on the design of new, adaptive, institutions – governmental, non-governmental, and corporate, and frameworks of assessment and accountability.
