The Ph.D. program in Environmental Studies at UCSC was a terrific experience for me. While my research continues to focus on environmental toxicology, it has benefited greatly from participation in the rigorous analysis of economic, legal, historical, ecological, and political aspects of environmental issues, both current and fundamental. The water pollution problems our work addresses always occur within a broader context, a wider world for which I have a much greater appreciation after working in EnvS. Perhaps best of all, the Department is filled with truly delightful people who have been a joy to interact with and learn from. I’m looking forward to further collaborations. |
