My dissertation research explores the social and ecological dimensions of biofuel production. My field research in Iowa to explores relationships between corn ethanol production, the lives of rural residents, and farmers' agricultural and conservation practices. I complement this ethnographic work with analyses of national and state politics and policies and emergent global dynamics. Disciplinary interests include geography, rural studies and sociology, and agroecology. |
