Internship Office Resources

The office is full of resources for students looking for:

Internships

We have many hardcopy binders full of internship listings that are always open for students to read through in our office. The binders are divided between internships offered in the Santa Cruz area, and those offered elsewhere. In addition to location, the binders are divided by areas of interest ö Environmental Education; Conservation Biology; Planning; Policy, Law and Economics; Waste Management, Toxics and Energy; Environmental Justice and Agroecology. If you click here you can see dozens of current internship listings.

Volunteer opportunities

From time to time we get announcements for volunteer opportunities. We have a collection of volunteer positions in the environmental field, all posted on the clipboards outside the internship office and others posted on various bulletin boards throughout the department. Many of these volunteer opportunities can lead to a for-credit internship. The volunteer positions are a good way to check out agroecology, restoration and conservation biology kinds of internships.

Career planning and job opportunities

As students get closer to graduating, it is important that they have access to resources which will help them in their career pursuits. We have a listing of job opportunities for graduates as well as undergraduates on clipboards outside the internship office. Students can also set up an appointment with the Internship Coordinator, Chris Krohn, for some advice on resume-building and job-seeking. Our office receives dozens of Environmental Studies-related job offerings so keep checking in throughout the year and especially as summer approaches.
