TO DECLARE ONE OF OUR 4 MAJORS

  • First determine if you qualify (see below).  Then attend a declaration workshop.  Workshops are held each quarter (Fall, Winter and Spring).  We do not have workshops or opportunities to declare in Summer.

  • After the workshop, there will be a few more steps.  Plan on a 1-2 week process, especially for those declaring combined majors, double majors and or major/minors as a meeting with another department advisor is required.

  • The Declaration workshops will produce an academic plan for the entire major; all lower and upper division requirements will be noted in sequence, on the formal Academic Planning Form.

  • To prepare for a workshop, look at the upper division courses that interest you, on our Courses section of this website and in our Advising office where a binder of Course Syllabi are kept for your reference.
