Declaring the Major

Declaring the Major

Once you've decided to major in environmental studies, you'll need to file a Declaration of Major.

Here are the steps you need to take:

Step 1: Print Declaration Form from your Student Center Advising Summary on your Student Portal.

Step 2: Fill out General Education (G.E.) section and take to your college for approval.

Step 3: Attend the ENVS Declaration Workshop, offered each quarter prior to declaration deadlines. Fill out all portions of middle section (Study Plan) on Declaration Form.

Step 4: Meet with any one member of the ENVS faculty, preferably during their office hours, for approval of your Study Plan.

Note: If you are combining your ENVS major with Earth and Planetary Sciences, or Biology, or Economics, you will need advisor and faculty approval from the other department before step 5.

Step 5: Drop completed form at ENVS Department office, room 405 ISB.
