Research Interests
My research is broadly focused on the relationship between the Central Coast agricultural industry and regional groundwater sustainability. I am particularly concerned with efforts to organize against agricultural nitrate pollution and subsequent drinking water contamination. Research interests include: nutrient management, agroecology, rural geography, environmental anthropology, environmental justice, and critical and feminist methodologies.

I am excited to support BIPOC- and student-led scholarship and activism committed to re-visioning and transforming public education. At UCSC, this work currently involves (1) participating in the self-organized Environmental Studies BIPOC Graduate Caucus, and (2) mentoring undergraduate students on a research project investigating faculty diversity in higher education. Beyond UCSC, I am involved in grassroots public education projects. If I can be of any support to researchers and organizers within or beyond UCSC, please let me know!
