Research Interests
Through my research, I aim to investigate the evolutionary ecology of plant diseases in natural systems by developing models to assess how host variability influences pathogen spread and impact in coastal redwood forests. I am particularly interested in how spatial variation within fungal pathogen communities is associated with variation in forest plant community composition, dynamics, and regeneration patterns following disturbance.
Additionally, I am committed to advancing equity and inclusion in science by using community science as a platform to make scientific knowledge more accessible, inclusive, and relevant to diverse communities. I aim to engage the public in addressing environmental challenges while supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds through educational opportunities and resources that foster careers in plant pathology and environmental science.
