Agency Description:

The Center for Agroecology is an organization in the Social Sciences Division made up of staff, faculty, and students who work to advance agroecology and equitable food systems through experiential education, participatory research, agricultural extension, and public service. We manage the campus farm, Chadwick Garden, Cowell Coffee Shop, Produce Pop-Up and other sites and programs on campus. We also conduct research, teach students and community members, and support small farmers and gardeners.

Intern Responsibilities:

This internship will involve photo- and video-documenting agroecology activities including research, public outreach, academic, and other activities. Interns will spend approximately 3 hours per week on assignment at the campus farm, Alan Chadwick Garden, and other sites managed by the Center for Agroecology. In addition, interns will spend approximately 2 hours per week editing and organizing collected photos and videos, plus approximately 1 hour per week participating in asynchronous photography, videography, or agroecology trainings for professional development.

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel to different sites across campus each week; Comfort photographing students and others

Intern Shifts:

Shifts are flexible

Location: 

Cowell Ranch Hay Barn near the base of UCSC campus and other sites on campus as assigned
