UC Santa Cruz runs on a quarter system which means that students have 10 weeks to complete their internship hours for academic credit. The start and end of the internship aligns with the quarter schedule. Students must make up any missed hours by the end of the quarter to pass their course.
Winter Quarter 2025
Internship Begins: Monday January 6
Internship Ends: Friday, March 14
Spring Quarter 2025
Internship Begins: Monday, March 31
Internship Ends: Friday, June 6
Summer Quarter 2025
Internship Begins: Monday, June 23
Internship Ends: Friday, August 29
Are you a New Agency?
We are grateful for all our agency sponsors and are actively seeking new internships to benefit our students and the environmental community. If you are interested in collaborating with the UC Santa Cruz Environmental Studies Internship Office please email esintern@ucsc.edu to schedule a meeting with the Internship Coordinator.
During this meeting, the Internship Coordinator will:
- Provide an overview of the Internship Program
- Review the role of student interns, agency sponsors and faculty sponsors
- Answer any questions you have
- Discuss next steps
