Agency Description:

Life Lab‘s mission is to cultivate children’s love of learning, nourishing food, and nature through garden-based education. We train and inspire current and future educators to use gardens as living laboratories to make learning fun, nourishing and connective. We host immersive, hands-on outdoor education programs for children in gardens.

Intern Responsibilities:

Interns will get training on how to work with kids outside and lead fun hands-on field trip activities. They lead groups of 6-10 elementary-aged students in the Garden Classroom and on the UCSC farm, helping kids make connections on diverse topics such as science and nutrition, as well as facilitating nature connection activities. Interns participate on set-up, clean-up and discussions on teaching strategies.

Fall 2025, our internship shift is Thursdays from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
