Agency Description:

The Long Term Recovery Group (SCCLTRG) is a local nonprofit that works with residents impacted by the 2020 CZU Fire and the 2023 Winter and Spring Atmospheric River Disasters. Our organization helps families’ advance their disaster recovery goals through trauma informed case management, and a Volunteer Rebuild Program that provides repair and reconstruct support. Additionally, SCCLTRG promotes disaster resilience by educating communities about evacuation preparedness and home hardening, and by leading the Santa Cruz County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters).

Intern Responsibilities: 

Interns will be trained in construction related tasks and help build on the worksites alongside other staff and volunteers. Interns will also assist with training and supporting new volunteers as they come onto sites. Interns should be able to lift 50lbs and be comfortable and excited be outside and on their feet throughout the day.

Other Requirements:

  • Intern must be physically fit and able to work in extreme weather
  • Intern must be able to remain positive in less than comfortable working conditions
  • Intern must demonstrate sensitivity as they may be interacting with clients who are disaster victims

Intern Shifts: 

Shifts are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8am-2:30PM

Location: Will vary based on which worksites will be active, current worksite include: 1065 Rambling Road, Boulder Creek and 565 Sunset Road, Boulder Creek
