Agency Description:
Pacific School’s FoodLab supports students in becoming healthy, self-sufficient, empowered people who understand the importance of hard work, environmental sustainability, and the joy that can come from cooking good food with and for your community. In our kitchen classroom, we cook breakfast, lunch and snack for about 200 people every day with our 5th and 6th grade students.
Intern Responsibilities:
FoodLab interns will assist in the kitchen classroom, helping teach 5th and 6th graders how to cook. They will also help develop and refine our ACOR (All the Colors of the Rainbow) curriculum that the food service director and garden instructor are developing. The result will be a cookbook/activity book. The intern will also teach nutrition lessons in our lunchrooms to all classes, preschool through 6th grade.
Other Requirements: Must be comfortable working with children aged 3-11.
Intern Shifts: Shifts are flexible Monday–Friday 8-3:30. We are not open on weekends.
