Agency Description:
The Soil Health/Agroecology Laboratory conduct research and extension to make California’s organic agriculture more sustainable: environmentally sound, economically viable, and socially just. Our research focuses on developing various soil health management practices including tools for nitrogen management and soilborne disease management in organic production systems under the integrated soil health management framework.
Intern Responsibilities:
Under the supervision, an intern will help conduct research for lab and field experiments. Tasks can include preparing and conducting soil/plant sampling in field trials, soil/plant sample processing, soil chemical analysis, setting up field trials and lab incubation trials, crop yield monitoring, and data entry and summary.
Intern Shifts:
Shifts are flexible according to students’ schedules. The standard work hours are M-F, 8-5.
