This past fall, Distinguished Professor Karen Holl’s lab published a public Global Reforestation Organization Directory in collaboration with Mongabay. The team scored how well 129 global tree-growing organizations commit to following best practices for permanence, ecology, social, and finance. Their goal with this site is to help potential funders identify organizations that share similar priorities, to commit to the highest standards in reforestation efforts, and to incentivize reforestation organizations to more clearly communicate their policies and to develop more transparent reporting and data-sharing practices.
