April 7th: Permission numbers required to enroll into any classes
April 16th: Add/drop/swap deadline
April 16th: Part-time Applications for Spring 2021 due
April 30th: Campus declaration deadline
April 30th: Apply to graduate for Spring 2021 without a fee
May 7th: Deadline to withdraw from a class
Feb 17th: Spring Enrollment Advising Week begins

Updated Pass/No Pass ENVS Department Policy
Please read carefully to understand our updated Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 ENVS Department Policy for P/NP grading options. These policies are designated for Winter 2021 and for the ENVS department only (not other majors). *Note that this P/NP policy is the same as Fall 2020 and Winter 2021. 
  • Senior Exits: All ENVS majors can take their senior exits P/NP for all remote quarters.  
  • ENVS/BIO Combined majors: Students pursuing the ENVS/BIO combined major can take their ENVS major requirements P/NP for Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 only. Students cannot take BIOL, BIOE, CHEM, or PHYS courses toward their ENVS/BIO combined major requirements Pass/No Pass--they must be taken for a letter grade. Please note: normally, students must take all ENVS/BIO combined courses for a letter grade. 
  • Honors in the Department: If you are planning to receive honors distinction in Environmental Studies, you are allowed up to 2 upper division major requirement courses P/NP to be considered. The courses must be taken P/NP during remote courses. 
  • Things that haven't changed: All students who are not majoring in ENVS/BIO combined will continue to be allowed to take their lower and upper division courses P/NP.
  • Campus-wide P/NP Policy for Spring 2021 and Summer 2021: 
    • P/NP earned Spring quarter are excluded from calculation of 75% grade requirement for graduation.
    • P/NP is not allowed for students below good academic standing or if repeating courses previously taken for letter grade. 
  • Deadline to change your grading option for Spring 2021: Friday, May 28th. 
  • You can change your grading option using your myUCSC portal.

Spring 2021 ENVS Internship Guidelines
If you would like to participate in an outdoor, Spring 2021 internship, here are the ground rules as laid out by campus. You must agree to them before starting your internship.
  • Maintaining physical distance requirements

  • Wearing face coverings

  • Practicing consistent physical hygiene (i.e., frequent hand washing)

  • Participating in daily symptom check processes 

  • Participating in testing programs as required 

  • Participating in contact tracing programs as required

  • Participating in sequestration/quarantine programs as required

  • Flu vaccination per UC policy
