Alexander Gershenson of Ecoshift Consulting, presenting at TechCrunch Disrupt NY 2013.

Environmental firm Ecoshift Consulting was featured in the Santa Cruz Sentinel this past week, highlighting the company's gaining momentum in the world of environmental consulting.

ENVS PhD alumni James Barsimantov, Alexander Gershenson and Dustin Mulvaney co-founded the consulting group with the goal to provide customers a way to employ sustainable management practices.

The group went to New York and advanced to the finals of the TechCrunch Disrupt NY 2013 conference, a media conference hosted by the start-up profiler TechCrunch. Ecoshift presented their Supply Shift product, which they believe will help keep supply chains sustainable and use suppliers who maintain "clean" methods, such as suppliers whose products pollute water.

The Sentinel Article points out that the group was the only Disrupt NY finalist without funding, making them an underdog of sorts.

Ecoshift is bringing their Supply Shift product to the Sustainability Consortium Summit in Atlanta, and to the Sustainable Brands Conference in San Diego.

They will present their Supply Shift solution to vendors and corporations, seeking investors in their product and consulting firm and spreading the word about the importance of responsible and simplified supply-chain sustainability.
