Two UCSC programs related to Environmental Studies were featured by the San Francisco Chronicle this past week:

The UCSC Farm, managed by CASFS - the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems - is celebrating it's 46th "growing season" this year. The SF Chronicle article covers the founding of the farm, the popular apprenticeship program, public tours and the annual plant sale which is taking place this May 4th and 5th.

The Puma Project has made several headlines recently as results from the research project were published this month in the journal PLOS One, Scale Dependent Behavioral Responses to Human Development by a Large Predator, the Puma. The SF Chronicle's article reviewed this research (the article is available to paying subscribers online).
